Intensive Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Power Across Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to drinking water, as stated by city officials.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has increased assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the major economies - in providing defensive weapons and implementing sanctions," he wrote in a online statement.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen missiles struck the country's power systems, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under intense attacks during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were injured.

The attacks come after periods of aerial attacks in the region, sections of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to detect.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
